It all started with an anecdote that happened to me quite a while ago. I follow my three favorite actresses on social media, and one of them posted that she would be at a "con" in England. For a millisecond, I got confused, because the word "con" in Spanish literally translates to "scam." Of course, the real issue was that I didn't realize right away that she was using an abbreviation—short for "convention."

This got me thinking: what are the biggest challenges that an English speaker might face when learning Spanish?
